SHIT.

Sam's gone.

His guards have no idea what happened. I'm not sure what to believe. They say one minute he was there, then somehow they BOTH blacked out, because next thing they know it's twenty minutes later and he's gone.

I'm called in, I'm furious, I scream and cuss them out for a good ten minutes, and then I do my inspection. The bed is neatly made, his bag is still right at the foot of the bed, and the kid is just gone. Cell door was closed, window was barred, but he's not here, or anywhere else in the station.

Son of a bitch.

I'm wondering, if it is Conaghan, how the hell he did it. Was it hypnosis, was it some ability to project thoughts into heads like Matt Parkman from Heroes, or did he just drill a hole through the floor and take him that way, burying it back up as he left? This is freaking ridiculous, we have the kid IN THE STATION and guarded and he still goes missing. These two guys are in a load of trouble right now.

There's something else...something I'm still not entirely sure about, but definitely could not write off. I'm not sure how you'd be able to write off something like this. As I was about to leave, I glanced up at the ceiling, wondering if maybe he came in through a hole in the roof, and I spotted...well, it's hard to know until the lab reports come back in, but I'm guessing was blood. Blood writing. As if this wasn't creepy enough for me, someone had to go and write this:

EZEKIEL 3: 16-21

THE ANGEL OF DEATH COMES FOR US ALL

That last statement...Sam said the exact same thing during the interrogation. I'm hoping that's not his blood, but at this point it wouldn't surprise me. What is it supposed to mean, though?

As for the Bible passage...I don't know what it is, I haven't read the Bible since I was ten. If anyone out there knows what it is, knock yourself out. But it's not the passage itself that bothers me.

It's the book it's from.

Ezekiel.

That hits just a bit too close to home for me. And I don't think I have to say why.

I'm just hoping no one's about to make this personal, because if they are, God help them.

  1. They have bibles on the web now:

"Ezekiel 3:16-21 (New King James Version)

16 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
20 “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”

Conaghan didn't find Jesus, did he?

  2. Oh good God, I hope not. It's bad enough I get Jehova's Witnesses.

So...what, is this supposed to be a warning or something? Kind of reminds me of Dante's Inferno. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

  3. I don't think it's Jesus. But if it is Sam's writing, he seems to think whoever has been doing this is a watchman. A single being appointed to serve and warn. This is getting weird.

Be careful, Strahm. I don't know who this is, or how many there are, but I would tread very lightly these next few days/weeks. Lest you find yourself in a situation you simply can not escape.

  4. Zeke, this has to be a warning to you.

"21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”"

"Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man (You, in this case) that the righteous (You, again) should not sin (pursue the case), and he (you) does not sin (pursue the case), he (you) shall surely live because he took warning;"

It's up to you now to decide if you want to continue the case.

Sorry if my English writing is bad; I hope you the best of luck, Zeke.

  5. Mr. Strahm, may I inquire as to whether there was surveillance in (or around) the cell where Sam was being held? If Conaghan did somehow disable the guards, he could have been caught on camera; if it was, say, a gas of some sort (I'm not an expert in the field), you then know his methods and can create counter-measures if you find another victim before he comes to them. "Angel of Death" indeed. Of course, this is for naught if Conaghan did, as you say, managed to dig in.

Another question is about how those words got onto the ceiling. I don't think Master Ford would be tall enough to write those words onto the ceiling, unless it was a rather low one. Perhaps the kidnapper (whether it is Conaghan or not) decided to taunt you with those words?

  6. @ Mr. Strahm

Can you give us the specifications of the cell Sam was being hold in?

  7. Chief had someone check the surveillance. I haven't heard the results yet, I'm assuming they'll tell me soon.

As for the writing, I couldn't even begin to tell you how it got up there. I also couldn't tell you how the rest of the cell is clean as a whistle except for the ceiling. It doesn't make a lick of sense.

The cell's a special holding room, Chief had it put in before I joined the force. It's mainly used for teens who have run away from home- officer picks them up, they spend anywhere between an hour or the whole night in there- but every once in a while we let people under police protection stay in there too. It's basically a small room, brick walls, one sliding door is the only way in or out, and it's got a window looking in. There's a barred window on the back wall and the bed rests against that wall too. There's a camera in the top left-hand corner that we use to keep an eye on him, and depending on who's staying in it we've usually got a couple guards outside as protection. Not the Mariott, but it's pretty comfortable, and until now we haven't had any problems keeping people inside.

  8. Did Sam have something on him when he was put in the cell? Or the guards took his possesions away?

  9. There is no WAY that bald fucker could've done this!

    Make no mistake, It's HIM!

Leave the case Zeke, for the love of god! Just do whatever but I know if you keep going on with this, you're gonna put yourself at risk of being put out of the equation!

  10. Yeah, he had a few things he took from home. Just some clothes and I think a book or two for reading. The bag was at the foot of his bed when I inspected the room, so whatever happened, it didn't go with him.

Look, buddy, this isn't the first time in my life that some psycho's called me out. I've had my share of bully fights in high school, and I had one case a year ago that some druggie wanted to bust my balls. If I can handle that, then some forty-year-old bald fuck isn't much of a concern to me. I'm taking Conaghan down, mark my words.

  11. Yeah, even if Slendy is real, I would still kill Mr. Clean, even if he isn't responsible for pimple-boy's disappearence.

  12. Maybe he incapacitated the guards somehow, stole their keys, got Sam out of the cell after disabling him, returned the keys, and got out of there trough an alternate escape route...

Maybe they should check not only the tapes of the cell Sam was held in, but the tapes of every other camera in the precinct.

The problem, however, is the writing. I have an idea on how he could have done it, but it's too crazy for it to be real...

  13. I keep coming to this point, whenever I re-read it: in the bible verse, Ezekiel the prophet is being made "watchman for the house of Israel." And isn't that what a policeman is, a watchman?

I think it's saying that Ezekiel is responsible for warning both the wicked and the righteous away from sin, and for punishing committed sin.

  14. Whoever's doing this has got quite some screwed up arrogant sense to it. I'm pretty sure that's where the downfall has to be.

I mean, really? What practical criminal'd go and traumatize kids and leave them with a bunch of cryptic clues? Why on earth would he go after a kid you've got under protection except just to rub it in your face?

All the things he's done have been cryptic and without sense. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some special trick to get the blood on the ceiling without any mess just to leave a 'funny', sadistic calling card. Who knows, he's still not stupid; maybe the surveillance will get screwed-up just when the action should be on.

At any rate, there's got to be a way to set an 'extra' trap; a spot for the calling card or somesuch.

I wish you the best of luck in this investigation; whoever's going it deserves to gown down, and hard.

  15. Your best bet would to have the lab do stuff to the blood and see whose blood it is.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @Merrit

I don't think it's even necessary. The kidnapper wouldn't want to risk getting his DNA on the crime scene.

It's impossible that the blood is from any of the guards, because if they had been hurt to take their blood, we would know by now.

Ergo, the only possible explanation is that it's Sam's blood.

Sorry if I my English writing is bad. >.<

I know I'm a tad late to the party, but thanks dude. The image of my mother's head in the fridge is exactly what I needed after reading all this.

  19. I wonder if this is the Archangel group doing this. I call them Timberwolves. Maybe possibly two groups? Some might not believe me. But I have read that the Slenderman and Timberwolves were somewhat allies or something
