Getting My Head Back On Straight

It's amazing what you come to realize once you take your mind out of the bottle and get out of the house for a few hours.

This afternoon I took off for a walk, not really caring where I was going. Maybe I was hoping I would walk off and disappear from the world...I don't really remember now. But before I knew it, my feet- and it was MY feet, and no one else's influence, I'm sure of that- had led me into the woods. And I wasn't sure at first where exactly I was, or how my feet had taken me out this far, but then I relaxed when I saw that familiar two-story house in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, that's right. My walk had taken me to Victoria Krell's house.

It's empty now. Her mom took off back in May, ran away with some trucker, or so we heard. I guess she figured we'd never find her daughter, so her drunken ass took off with the first man she came across. If I had thought it had been shabby before, now it really looked forlorn. Leaves were clogging up the gutter, the windows were dirty, and there was a hole in the roof, probably caused by a raccoon, that I'm sure had not been there the last time we were there.

Last time we were there...back when all of this first started...

I stared at the house, and inside I felt a deep feeling of regret. We should have found that girl. We should have found her, and Jessica, and poor Sam. They should all be home now, Victoria arguing with her mom, Jessica with her boyfriend on a Friday night, and Sam skateboarding with his friends. School's been out for a couple of weeks for them; they should be home enjoying it, not wherever they are now. They didn't deserve this. They were just kids. They didn't do anything wrong.

And then I started feeling angry. None of us deserved this. I went three months trying so hard to be their protector, but now I'm just like them- a victim. How the fuck did this happen? Now they're gone, and the world has moved on and forgotten them and I'm all that's left, all that is there to try and make sense of it. It's not fair. It's just not fair...

He's not fair.

And it's time I start doing something about it. I'm done just talking about it. I want Him...no, I want him dead. I'm talking about ripping his arms off and beating him to death with them. I'm talking about sticking my foot so far up his ass my shoe imprint gives him facial features. I'm talking stone cold, bury him six feet under dead.

And I'm going to do it.

I haven't responded to comments, but I have read. For those of you giving up on me, go right ahead. World needs plenty of hate. For those who still try to encourage, I thank you. I'm not the easiest guy to get along with, and I don't intend to change who I am, but...well, thanks, I guess.

But the consensus is the same: opening the door. I want to know what's behind it too, because I'm fairly certain it's someONE instead of someTHING. And someONE means there's a survivor, and I don't know how much time they have left.

But I can't just barge in.

Look at it this way: if you were a special forces team on a mission to retrieve a captured soldier, do you just go in guns blazing with no plan other than to run and gun and wing it? No, you don't. That just results in getting the whole team killed. You get your intel, you map the area, you make a plan, and THEN you go in.

I've got the plan, and I've got the map. What I don't have, though, is the intel.

I need to fully know what I'm up against. I need to know Slender Man, inside and out. I don't want to just go in there and be in way over my head. I need to know what I'm up against.

That's where you come in.

I've got a few sites that Lizzie was looking up, but they all pretty much say the same thing. I can find out the basics on my own. But I need to bring it deeper than that. And I know a few of you are into this Slender Man stuff like it's your job, so...

I need to find the blogs. There has to be others out there, like me, like Logan Renault, who are going through something like this. Some may just be games, some may be the real thing...I don't know. But I need to find them, and I need to see what they've gone through. Maybe they have something the experts have missed.

There has to be a way to take him down. There has to be something I missed. I need to see if it's out there.

I know it's a bit of a request, coming from me...and I don't doubt anyone who turns away from my request, but if you won't help me, point me in the direction I need to go. I'm a detective. I do my job based off the clues and the evidence presented to me. I think these blogs may help me do that.

So please, help me...because I want to get this son of a bitch.

  1. There is one blog that might interest you, primarily because of the nature of the writer. She's a teenage girl calling herself Prism, and she claims to have been heavily stalked by the Slenderman and survived.

  3. One thing that is consistent in the Slender Man myth, is that people sometimes do not seem to see him, even when you'd think they would. As in, the Slender Man is standing right next to them, and they can't see him.

Cameras, and audio recorders, however, almost always detect him, even if it's just picking up static. People, who cannot see him otherwise, have used cell-phone cameras to "see" him.

So Zeke, how's the water in the deep end? Ever wonder why Lizzy named the blog "Open the door and you will find me?"

    We do.

What happened when your gun went off last Friday night? Remember, sheet rock doesn't stop large-caliber bullets.

  4. Thank you, Jonathan and Eli. I'm reading them now. I'm going to put a comment on Rainbow Life...just hope it helps.

I don't know why she named it that, and quite frankly, I don't care. Maybe she knew this was hoiw it was going to end out early on. Doesn't matter now.

Gun went off, didn't do shit. He got in anyway. Events are still blurry after that. Not sure I want to remember anyway. He's been backing off since my last two posts. Maybe he's had enough for a little while.

Yeah, either that, or he's got you moving to exactly where he wants you to me.

    Remember the warehouse?

  6. Well it's obvious that slenderman is know to stalk children/young people from the cases you were involved in and other blogs that said this. What if you were to make a trap or diversion and catch him in the act? It's just an idea.

  8. You've been linked to most of the relevant blogs. I'll give you some pointers then.

    1. There seems to be a pattern involved with the Slender Man victims as a whole, including yourself and Lizzie. The victims see the Slender Man, they begin to research him, and the more they find out about the Slender Man the worse the stalking gets. As the victim becomes more obsessed, more paranoid, the Slender Man draws closer until it comes to a head, and they're killed or abducted.

One of the defenses against this seems to be forceful denial. Alex Kralie and even yourself are examples of this...you were stalked by Slender Man as a child, but a good dose of repressed memory held him at bay and allowed you to escape.

Perhaps your best bet at getting into that room is to believe, TRULY believe, that you're still pursuing Conaghan. Go so far as to convince yourself that he was the one stalking you at your home. Even if you see Slender Man, address him as if he IS Conaghan.

    Either way, good luck.

  9. Fuck yes, man! Research, research, research and experiment! Ever tried to actually shoot Slenderman (I know you've talked about it, but have you done it)? I'd love to see how that would turn out. Looking at the blogs is a good idea, but a lot of them are fake. Figure things out yourself.

This door thing seems pretty new, and I've never heard of anybody ever finding something like that (though like I said, a lot of the Slenderman blog are fake so who knows) and I'm gonna say open it, but be careful and stay alert. Keep your eyes open. You can do this.

  10. Zeke, I wish you the greatest luck; while I've no experience in the field myself, you're pretty smart; I'm sure you have a better handle on things then I would in the same situation.

    Best of luck.

  16. I'm glad to see you're back in the game, Zeke.

I don't have anything to say that you haven't seen and heard already, but you have my encouragement, for what that's worth.

Take this sucker down, and you'll be waking the world from a nightmare. A nightmare that never should have started.

    Good luck.

  17. So I read another chunk of your blog.

Damn, it pulls on my heartstrings to know of your loss.

I want to see him die.
For some reason, Jay doesn't seem to remember anything besides what are in his videos.
Remember that Slender Man has a huge advantage; I'm afraid he can use hypnosis?

  19. Zeke, I knew what I was getting into when I started reading this blog tonight, but I didn't know how bad it was.
As soon as I read everything about the warehouse... I felt empty and I wanted to quit reading.... But now.. I just don't know... But I'll do anything to help you.

I've been reading up on the Slender Man, and I've learned something that might help you:

    1. If you see masked men/women, it's too late for you.
    2. If you convince yourself it's 100% fake, you're most likely saved (until somehow you forget it's fake again).
    3. Weapons don't work against him, not even crosses or holy water.
    4. I got headaches, eye aches, and ear aches after watching Marble Hornets, and so did a few other people I know after they saw it... So this probably means if you get those symptoms all at once, HE'S around.
    5. Try baiting him into saying Candlejack? Because as the saying goes, people usually disappear after they say it aloud. (Not talking about the meme where when you say it you just stop typing in the middle of a word and submit that as your message.)

  22. Alright, Zeke. I can't offer you much in the way of support or advice, but what I can say is 'good luck.'

Figuring out a way to take him down is going to help everyone besides you. There's no telling how many he's taken, especially in recent times with the events seen in Marble Hornets, and the numerous blogs we've seen. You're that little angel of vengeance those people need.

Even if he's a supernatural being, it may worth it to try and take him down in a mundane way. Pack a shotgun. If you can, call in a helicopter gunship.

I can't tell if that bit about the helicopter was a joke or not, but really, it doesn't matter.

    Good luck, Zeke.

    ReplyDelete
  23. StarbirdTownie, if you didn't read the other posts, read them. There's a part where a shotgun blast didn't even injure the Slender Man, even though it would've been a killing blow for any human.
The normal ways of killing won't work in this situation. They have to be supernatural.

I'm way totally late to this, and I haven't finished your blog quite yet, so I don't know if you still need information, but everything I've got here is just straightforward research. Not necessarily facts, but at least theories based on what people generally agree about him. It's not complete yet, but hopefully it helps some.

That has a pretty good chronicling. I'm pretty sure you've amassed plenty of your own experience by now since this has progressed a lot, but still if you or someone else looks back here, it's a good list.

  27. @Inunah: I know this is REALLY late, but CandleJack is nothing paranormal, he was a cartoon character from Animaniacs back in the 90s; he was kind of like SlenderMan and would kidnap you if you said his name.

  31. You know what I'm tired of this sucker already and I only really found out about this mythological creature today. But from what I've read and what I've seen it seems to be fear that drives it so here's a suggestion take it or leave it, "NO FEAR". Don't feed it. If you're face to no-face with this whatever it is, look it square in it's shadowy complexion and say "hey what are you doing here, i thought i got rid of you as a child". And i do apologize if this angers some people or blindsides them but look guys imaginary friends are just that, imaginary. They are to be kept in childhood and not be brought into adulthood. I'm sorry again guys but if God is on your side then you need no fear accomplish whatever it is you need to get done. Like fighting it, fight with your mind as well as your fists. It's nerve racking, but it's not scary. It was at first, reading stories, watching videos but the more I researched, watched and thought about it the more it sounded absurd. Every story I've read involved one common denominator, "fear". So the conclusion is no fear, makes sense to me.
I've never came in contact with this thing at least not that i remember, but i have seen a lot of crazy things in my life (paranormal investigator) and extensively researched even more and if there is two things I've learned in dealing with the paranormal is God and No Fear play major parts in the trade. The only reason i even looked into this is because my nephew is experiencing very odd behavior most of which seems too match this, but no this is something i refuse to let become an issue. Well guys you might be irritated at this post but i say with all of you in my prayers good luck and God speed.
